Desc: The Minorcans: 250 years of survival: Directed by Celia Novis. In 1768, a thousand of people from Minorca (Spain) landed in America (Florida). They were told that were going to work in a New Smyrna plantation that would be theirs in a few years. But they were deeply deceived. Those immigrants become slaves at the plantation for 9 years. Most of them died. Finally, three of them escaped to Saint Augustine and met the Governor, who ordered the immediate release of those Minorcan slaves. The former Minorcan slaves moved to Saint Augustine in 1777, in a march that is considered "the first march for the civil wars in the USA".
